 Bryan Truta QnA

So, Mr. Truta of 105.1 Jack FM stuck around after practice to knock the ball around with KZ and Cherryh Butler, face of Ink Magazine. Hillcrest Road caught up with him afterward for a quick question/answer session about the experience, the upcoming media game and his time in the Cauldron last weekend. See his blog about the experience here. See his answers from today here:

Bryan Truta, it’s a pleasure to have a superstar such as yourself here at Wizards practice. What did you think of your first experience here at Swope Park at the Wizards practice?

Well, it took me back to a more innocent time when I used to play soccer myself. The field’s beautiful and it’s a great day out here. I learned a lot, and I feel confident in my skills for the media game July 10 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

I know you worked with Kerry Zavagnin after practice. What exactly did he work on with you? What kind of pointers did you get?

Well basically I learned out to juggle the ball...more to the fact that I can’t. I also learned how to head the ball and basically just kick.

What are your strengths and weaknesses as you break down your game heading towards the third-annual media game on July 10th?

I’d say a strength of mine is that at least I know the game. I’m a fan of the game and I played for a while. My weakness pretty much is that I despise running, so that’s going to be a problem.

Do you have a special training regiment that you’re planning in preparation for the game in three weeks?

Absolutely. I’m going to have a Diet Sunkist every morning and try to have one of those big cinnamon rolls out of the snack machine. Other than that, it’s basically a regiment of a lot of soccer on TV and no running.

I know you were in the Cauldron the other night for the first time. What did you think of that experience? What did you think of CommunityAmerica Ballpark?

It was unreal. The ballpark had a great atmosphere, and the Cauldron, it really felt like I was just in one of those games in Europe. I thought maybe at some moment I would be trampled or somebody would throw some sort of bodily fluid on me. It was great.
