Bruce Arena Heading to Kansas City

No sports fans, Coach Onalfo is not being replaced, and he's not adding another assistant to his staff. Former U.S. National Team coach Bruce Arena is, however, going to be in town for the weekend's match. Arena will join Sean Wheelock in the broadcast booth to serve as match analyst for the Metro Sports TV broadcast and La Playa 1480 radio simulcast.

Onalfo played under Arena at the University of Virginia and later at D.C. United in 1998. The two then joined up again with the U.S. National Team, where Onalfo served as Arena's assistant from 2003 until the time of his hiring here at the Wizards in 2006. As you all know, Arena left Red Bull New York last year and was later replaced by Juan Carlos Osorio.

Arena was also the subject of a mighty fine April Fool's prank by the one and only Ives Galarcep on Soccer by Ives on Tuesday.
