Even with the Wizards on an off day, the Kansas City Star gave some love to the soccer fans out there. Samuel Siringi, a guest journalist from Kenya, published this article about today and tomorrow's UEFA Champions' League semifinal matches between Liverpool-Chelsea and Manchester United-Barcelona. Let the Star know you're happy about their extended coverage of the real football. Post a comment about the story or email your thoughts to Samuel at ssiringi@kcstar.com.
Who is everyone betting on to win UEFA CL? I know we have a small sect of Liverpeople among Wizards supporters, but who else has a vested interest? Post in the comments below.

Chelsea. Go Blues!
ReplyDeleteAnybody but the Prem. C'Mon Barca!
ReplyDeleteWas this in the paper anywhere? I didn't see it in the sports page today.
ReplyDeleteChelsea will win and smack the smug KU-like arrogance off the Liverpudlians faces.
ReplyDeleteGo Blue
I dislike them both...I am a huge EPL fan so I will pull for them both. My favorites are both in a fight for relegation right now.
ReplyDeleteThe company I work for is based in Reading so I have adopted them as my favorite. Second to that, I am a Fulham fan.
It was not in the paper, just on the website. If these stories are well read and commented upon, however, they will start to appear in the paper as well.
ReplyDeleteBarca is the best team right now, since I remember I been BARCA fan.
ReplyDeleteVAMOS BARCA.
SOCCER IS LIVE.
contrary to the smug like arrogance of Chelski fans George?
ReplyDeleteThe difference between KU-like arrogance and Chelsea-like arrogance is a history of winning. Plus Chelsea isn't going to smack anything. The only time you see Grant and the boys do any smacking is against whipping boys like Derby County.
ReplyDeleteUnited all the way. Chelski got lucky today to pull an away goal (OG at that) and pretty much locked themselves a place in the final I think.
ReplyDeleteBarca is hardly the "best team right now" by anyone's estimation. They're suffering from injuries and a lack of depth and are not even the best side in Spain currently.
I predict a United v Chelski showdown for the CL, and just like Utd will do in a few short days, they'll beat the Blues to pick up some silverware. Can you say double, baby?
Check out the points board for the smacking comments. Looks to me like Chelsea has been smacking a few people around. The blues - like they have done in the last round of Champions League - are going to put more on the board when they're home.
ReplyDeleteTake a back seat Liverpool!
Nice home cooked don't-call-the-offside-but-go-ahead-and-let-the-Liverpool-goal-count play. Sheesh. Good job Riise ... LOL
ReplyDeleteChelsea 2-0 next week.
