Jonathan Leathers checked in this afternoon with Hillcrest Road from Toulon, France where the U.S. U-23 squad trained today on a rainy field in the beautiful city. Leathers is rooming with Tony Beltran, the 3rd overall pick in this year's MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake. He said that Nowak is a very good coach. Leathers described him as very funny off the field, but all business between the lines--something Leathers says he likes.
They're staying in a Holiday Inn with a beautiful view of the mountains on the outskirts of the city. If you don't know much about France's geography (like me), look below for a better understanding. Toulon is situated in the south of France along the Mediterranean. Beautiful country.
What would you be doing on your free time in Toulon? Sight-seeing? Hitting up the local hot spots? Practicing your French (a la Jimmy Conrad in his International One Price Commercial)? Not Jonathan Leathers. Though he assured me he would get out and see the sights of the city during the stay, he's currently doing homework. Leathers has three classes remaining to finish his degree from Furman, and he wants to do so this semester. More power to you bro! Keep up the good work!

So, where do you find a place flat enough and large enough for a soccer field? Toulon seems rather hilly.
