Save the date.... June 21
You may recall a couple months ago I reported on an OnGoal partnership with our friends at Weston Brewing Company (http://www.westonirish.com/). We're developing a series of proprietary traditional beers that will be served cask-conditioned at the Trails. I'm pleased to report that Round 1 of beer production is complete. The Weston guys have produced 600 gallons (!) of a wonderful beer that is similar in style to Fullers ESB with a very refreshing finish. Robb and I conducted the first phase of quality control (ahem) a couple weeks ago and we both really enjoyed it. We hope to officially announce the event this week, but SAVE THE DATE for a June 21st watch party road trip to the Weston brewery with the opportunity to sample the new brew. We will likely run buses from several spots around KC up to O'Malley's pub on the property of the brewery... should be a great time. Details to come!

I have to say, the beer is a very intelligent partnership. I balk at paying stadium prices for beer, but I'd be much more likely to buy a Wizards beer that I could only get at the game. I don't know why more professional franchises haven't developed similar arrangements.
