Selena Gomez Comes to Town

As those of you with younger children (a very rough age range...we'll say 4-14?) know, Disney Channel is king. They brought us Hillary Duff (Lizzy McGuire), Zach Effron (High School Musical) and Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana). Well, now they're set to bring us Selena Gomez (Alex Russo of the show "Wizards of Waverly Place"). That "Wizards" in the title of the show was too good to pass up. In conjunction with local Radio Disney channel 1190 AM and the good people of Panasonic, 15-year-old Selena Gomez will be at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Saturday, June 28 for our match against Real Salt Lake. She will be available before the game for photos and autographs.

If you have tweens (as they're apparently now called), make sure to let them know and bring them out to the stadium. When I told my younger cousin the girl from Wizards of Waverly Place would be coming, she jumped up and down and begged her mom to bring her in town from St. Louis for the match. Ms. Gomez is a huge deal. People Magazine just dubbed her the next Miley Cyrus. Very nice.

Btw, former Wizards intern Heather L. confessed to me today that she (by herself) was watching Wizards of Waverly Place yesterday. She is 23, and she's coming to the match. See ya then, Heather!
