U.S. Soccer put out a press release a couple of minutes ago naming Dax McCarty (FC Dallas) as an injury replacement for Nathan Sturgis (Real Salt Lake) on the U.S. Olympic team roster. With McCarty moving to the full roster, our starting left back Michael Harrington has been added to the three-person alternate list. Harrington is an attractive alternate due to his extreme versatility. Though right footed naturally, Harrington plays comfortably on the left both in defense and midfield. As you could expect, he is also capable of sliding to the right side if necessary. In college, Harrington also played games at forward and central midfield.

Great to see Mike get the call he should've gotten earlier. He's been one of our better draft picks and has done very well considering his experience. I hope he stays in Wizards blue for many years.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean he is "on call", or does he go to China?
ReplyDeleteHe is "on call". He would only head over to China in the event of an injury.
ReplyDeleteBreak a leg Ianni, literally.
ReplyDeletejk. But no, seriously...
