 News and Notes

Several Wizards have been included in stories in the last couple of days that we haven't yet linked up.

First, Chance Myers and Roger Espinoza were touted as two of "tomorrow's All-Stars" by Ives Galarcep at ESPNSoccernet.com. Read it. (Chance was also featured in the picture.)

Next, Davy Arnaud got some love from Port Arthur, TX, just outside Davy (and Lance Watson's) hometown of Nederland. Read it.

Also, Jimmy Conrad's chat transcript is posted at ESPN.com. Check it out.

Finally, intern Libby comes through again. This time, a fellow named Benton Smith of the Tonganoxie Mirror ventured to CAB to take in his first-ever MLS match. Benton seemed to enjoy the experience, and though he got a few facts wrong, he gave a good review of the experience. Read it.

  1. Talk about getting some facts wrong...the article about Davy has some bad facts about how many games Davy missed and how many games we won without him (we haven't even won 6 games all season!). Oh well....guess any media attention is good, though at some point, reporting correct facts needs to be important!

  2. The other misstatement about Davey is that West Texas A&M is not located in Port Arthur, but is actually at the other end of the state in the panhandle of Texas in the small town of Canyon, Texas.

  3. Yep....fixed. Hillcrest's bad.

  4. So, since we have roster spots open, are we going to pick anyone up?

How about Cory Gibbs to help on defense? He never got a chance at Charlton Athletic due to injuries. He would be a good addition.

    Thoughts.

  5. It's actually roster SPOT, we only have one spot. And it's unlikely that it'll be Gibbs. I doubt Onalfo is looking to improve the defense. Everything seems to be pointing to him wanting to improve the attack.
