It seems that headlines of athletes and other stars screwing up are often above the fold but praise of good efforts are buried near the back of the paper. Here's a story from a few weeks back from a mother of an autistic child who participated in a clinic put on by Jimmy Conrad, Kerry Zavagnin, Davy Arnaud and Ryan McMahen. Read and enjoy.
In a totally different frame of mine, check out this story that gives new meaning to the phrase "traded for a bag of potato chips."

It just goes to show that our boys in blue have not lost touch with what is really important in life. Im not sure if you can say that about most top flight professional athletes in this county. Im proud to be a wizards supporter and to know that the core of our team is a truly heart felt group. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great story. I'm sure there are plenty more families just like hers that the Wizards have touched over the years.
ReplyDeleteSomeone should pass this on to the Star. This is the kind of thing that would be great to couple with a Saturday pre-game news story.
