 Practice Fun

Stopped by training today for a little look at the guys before tomorrow's important match against Chivas USA. The session went well, with the starting group knocking the ball around and working on crosses. The reserves participated in 7-v-7 matches on a small field. Technical Director Peter Vermes and Coach Onalfo were involved, with their two teams squaring off in the final. After training, captain Kansas City and fellow veteran Kerry Zavagnin snagged a water jug and dumped it on Head Athletic Trainer Chet North, as it was Chet's birthday today. PV kept the guys in a huddle just long enough for the chilly b-day present. See pics below.

Coach Onalfo trains during the session. His green team ended up winning the final 1-0 over Peter Vermes' orange team.

Defender Jimmy Conrad and midfielder Kerry Zavagnin hold a walking Gatorade ad and advance toward trainer Chet North as team President Robb Heineman looks on.

Chet was just minding his own business.

Until....

Splash down.

I heard it was cold.

Have a look at Chet's assistant, Kenny Ishii, second from the left in blue. He was enjoying watching his boss get doused.

Then PV got in on the fun.

Happy Birthday Chet.
