 Playoff Clinching Scenarios Part Deux

So after the THRILLING last-second win on Saturday at CAB, we take the road with our playoff future securely in our own hands. Even if we lose, we can still make the playoffs, but a win makes all other results irrelevant. Check out details below, including which seed we would occupy in each scenario:

The Western Conference results are irrelevant to our playoff scenario due to tiebreakers.

We hold the tiebreaker over all possibilities unless DC catches up to us in goal differential (which we currently lead by 3)

If we win, no matter what NYRB or DC do, we are 4E
If DC does not win, we are in the playoffs no matter what
If NYRB loses, we are in the playoffs no matter what DC does

If NYRB wins, we draw, and DC wins by fewer than 3 goals, we are 4W
If NYRB wins, we draw, and DC wins by 3 goals or more, we are out
If NYRB wins, we lose, and DC wins, we are out

If NYRB draws, we draw, and DC wins by fewer than 3 goals, we are 4E
If NYRB draws, we draw, and DC wins by 3 goals or more, we are 4W
If NYRB draws, we lose, and DC wins, we are out
If NYRB draws, we lose and DC does not win, we are 4W

If NYRB loses, we draw, and DC does not win by 3 goals or more, we are 4E
If NYRB loses, we draw, and DC wins by 3 goals or more, we are 4W
If NYRB loses, we lose, and DC wins, we are 4W

  1. To summarize, the Wizards are only out of the playoffs if:

    * We draw, NY wins, and DC wins by 3 or more goals.

    * We lose, DC wins, and NY either wins or draws.

    I like our chances...
