Billboard Sneak PeakHey guys, we're about to post four billboards around the Kansas City metro promoting our upcoming games at CommunityAmerica Ballpark by the Legends. The billboards go up soon and run through the first four games. One will be on I-35 facing south, two on I-70 facing west and one on I-70 facing east. Hope you like the design. If not, yell at design guru Chad.
Hartman, Conrad and Arnaud make a pretty mean looking crew. Mean in many ways. Crew, of course, not referring to that black and gold team to the east.
Totally awesome! Way better than last years billboards that featured a certain enlish-man who plays for another team...

I like it, but it would be nice if they had the home opener date so people know when the season starts.

ReplyDeleteHow about Sealy rather than Hartman so that we don't look so... Whitey? It comes off as if Kansas City's team in the Worlds Game has no one for the ethnic fans to relate to (especially since we offloaded Garcia & Burciaga). I know you're hitting for named players on this ad, but Sealy should be a feature player for us this year just as much as any of those others are. Just a suggestion for round 2 if there is one.
I agree with Andy, plus Sealy has been here longer than Hartman. Give the KC vets some due.

ReplyDeleteAs mentioned earlier, we (the marketing staff) went with the three players on the roster right now who are the most marketable - the "name" players. Would have loved to use Sealy, and have some great shots of him. But the average kansas citian is more likely to recognize Jimmy, Davy or Kevin because they're featured on the radio/TV and in newspaper stories more often.
Also, when these billboards go up they're going to have a cutout with some sort of tag on them regarding the home opener in March.
