Hello all, happy Monday! The lads just got done with training in Bradenton, and with No. 1 overall pick Chance Myers training with the squad for the first time, we thought this would be a great time to post a QnA we did with Myers just minutes after he was selected. More on that below.
This will be a fun, busy week for the organization. The squad trains again tomorrow and will then have an intra-squad scrimmage Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. ET. Hillcrest will post all the details after the match. The team then has a day off Thursday before practicing Friday and playing Columbus Crew in a pre-season match Saturday, also at 10 a.m. ET.
We will of course post news and notes as they happen. Check back often.
Chance Myers QnA:
When the Kansas City Wizards selected midfielder Chance Myers with the first overall selection in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft, they were stockpiling. Not only did they add a speedy wing player capable of playing on both sides of the field in midfield and defense, but also they added their FOURTH player from UCLA. Myers joins goalkeeper Kevin Hartman, defender Jimmy Conrad and midfielder Sasha Victorine as former UCLA players currently on the Wizards roster. Myers first got onto the field as a Wizard in Sunday's 3-0 victory over the U.S. U-17 team and participated in his first practice with the team today. Hillcrest Road caught up with Myers shortly after he was selected last month in Baltimore, MD.
