Met Some Fans

So this was a couple of days ago now, but I had to make sure I had the facts straight. This Sunday after our 4-2 Reserve Division thumping of D.C., I ventured out of the team hotel to find some food. As I exited, I spotted rookies Jonathan Leathers, Matt Marquess and Rauwshan McKenzie hanging outside a restaurant across the street. As the nosy one that I am, I sauntered over to see what was up. It turns out that the three defenders were heading to lunch with some of Rauwshan's family, and I was invited.

What a lunch it was! We had some excellent Chinese, some wonderful conversation with the McKenzie crew, some good people watching out the restaurant window and quite a few laughs. It turns out that Mrs. Donna McKenzie is quite the blog connoisseur. Not only does she read Hillcrest Road frequently, but she googled her son and found this fun pic of him over at The Offside Rules. Watch out SF, Mrs. McKenzie has her eyes on you!

Anyway, Donna and her also-jovial husband Marc were kind enough to pick up the tab for all involved, as long as I posted about the evening on Hillcrest. Well, I was going to anyway, but that was quite the nice surprise! Here you go McKenzie family. It was a pleasure to meet you!
